Rock Garden

September 2005

Nek Chands Rock Garden is a fantasy world in Chandigargh, North India. It is the most second visited site in India (after the Taj Mahal).

I spent four weeks there in September of this year in which time I designed and created a beautiful mosaic along with three other London based artists.

We chose to portray elephants as the wall was part of a huge public space that is used for celebrations and weddings. We decorated the elephants with mosaic garlands and patterned fabrics and hung bells from them as if they were taking part in a procession.
